Challenges can be connected to any number of health behaviors, productivity habits, or other simple changes that can lead to a better life. But do they work? The answer is yes and no. The challenge in and of itself may not yield the promised results, such as six-pack abs, but the act of practicing a new behavior daily can help you develop better habits. The Science of Change A habit is a learned automatic response. Forming new healthy habitsâ"or breaking bad onesâ"involves multiple steps including making a decision to change, initiating the new behavior, and repeating it often. Building new healthy habits takes time. A 30-day challenge can help to get the ball rolling, but it may not be enough to make lasting change. In fact, research suggests it takes an average of 66 days for a new behavior to become ingrained. A 2010 study published in the European Journal of Social Psychology found the length of time it takes for a new behavior to become automatic varies from 18 days to 254 days.?? According to the authors, missing one day did not hinder progress, however, the more difficult the behavioral change was perceived, the longer it took for the habit to form. Establishing Healthy Behaviors Might Take Longer Than You Think Stages of Change Change is made in small steps or stages. The pre-contemplation stage occurs before you even think actively about making changes. The next stage involves thinking and planning but no actual observable change as far as taking on the new habit is concerned. Its only in the next stage that the actual new habit is acquired. Interestingly, if the habit is dropped, this isnt considered a failure, but rather a predictable part of the whole process of change and even a specific stage of change if you dont give up trying; its considered a part of the process of creating lasting change. The 6 Stages of Behavior Change Strategies for Success While perseverance is essential for making any new habit stick, researchers have identified several other tools that can help. Context and consistency are strongly linked to success in modifying behaviors. According to research published in the British Journal of Health Psychology in 2013, tying a new habit to a current routine can be useful.?? The study focused on teeth flossing and found those who flossed after brushing their teeth developed more consistent flossing habits than those who planned to floss first, then brush their teeth. According to the study authors, creating sub-routines in the middle of an existing routine can have a greater likelihood of habit formation.?? In addition, positive attitudes had a direct result on successfully making a new habit. Ways to implement this strategy include: Read a daily devotional with your morning cup of coffee.Take vitamins with your breakfast.Add a squat challenge or body-weight exercise challenge to your daily gym routine. Tie a new skincare regimen into your bedtime routine. 5 Simple Steps To Lasting Healthy Changes Support Systems One way that 30-day challenges on social media can help create new habits is the support people get when posting online. Using apps, such as MyFitnessPal, FitBit, Habitify, or Todoist, can also boost success. A 2018 study published in the Journal of Biomedical Informatics found interactive digital support systems can help people establish healthier lifestyle habits.?? In the study, patients who were at risk of metabolic syndrome were able to lose 5-percent of their body weight and stave off health issues by using software that provided motivation and reminders to monitor diet and fitness activity. The researchers suspect the digital interactions helped to reduce the mental load of forming a new habit and enabled greater consistency so the task becomes automatic.?? Social Support Is Imperative for Health and Well-Being Types of Challenges Whatever habit youd like to makeâ"diet, exercise, skincare, meditation, gratitude, etc.â"you are likely to find a 30-day challenge for it. There are two basic types of 30-day challenges: ones that introduce and strengthen new habits over the month and ones that offer something unique to try each day. Both can be effective ways to start a new healthy habit. Here are some challenges we recommend: 30-Day Quick Start Exercise Plan for Beginners30-Day Squat Challenge30-Day Body-Weight Exercise Challenge 30-Day Pilates ChallengeWhole30: 30 Days To A Healthy Diet Benefits Given that it takes an average of 66 days to make a new habit, doing a 30-day challenge isnât a guarantee that a new behavior will become part of your life. Committing to a 30-day challenge has three main benefits: It provides the boost you may need to get started making a change.Once started, the daily repetition boosts momentum to implement the desired change consistently. As you keep going, achieving small successes can help motivate you to keep going. Taking a challenge along with supportive friendsâ"in real life or virtuallyâ"adds an additional level of support. Some people find online challenges offer an aspect of friendly competition that helps propel them forward. Choosing a Challenge Before committing to a challenge, make sure its in line with your goals and realistic for your lifestyle. For example, a money-saving challenge that has you socking away more money than you make by the end of the month isnt practical. Likewise, dont begin a workout challenge that requires levels of exercise that exceed what is safe or healthy for your situation. For some people, 30-day challenges promote an all or nothing mentality that can set them up for failure. Its important to remember, if you miss a day or stray from the challenge, you can start right back up again where you left off, or recommit to starting on Day 1 for a fresh start. 3 Ways to Make Your Exercise Habit Stick A Word From Verywell Using a 30-day challenge can be an effective strategy for building new habits. Choose your challenge carefully to ensure it aligns with your goals and set realistic expectations for what you hope to accomplish. Not all online challenges are designed with the right intentions. Oftentimes social media influences will use challenges as a way to boost engagement for greater ad revenue, as a means to sell their products, or simply as a way to toot their own horn. My Fellow Americans John F. Kennedyôs Presidential Speech...
Lots of things were happening in 1960 with John F. Kennedy was to be the president of the United States of America. America is going through a period of where they are scared and worried about what is going on in the world around them. They needed a strong leader to turn them around and get them back on top. Kennedy was telling everyone in the world that if they didnââ¬â¢t have freedom, if they were trapped by communism, America was by their side. Singing The Praises Of The Unsung Hero - 1309 Words
Singing the Praises of the Unsung Hero Ever since the earliest traces of literature, heroes have enriched stories and captivated audiences. Heroes are a direct reflection of everything that we wish to be and embody the best values of our culture and because of that we hold them up as objects of admiration. Coverage of the civil rights movement follows this same pattern, emphasizing the most commonly known protagonists such as Martin Luther King Jr. and too often fails to highlight the ordinary people who also participated in the movement on local scales. These people regularly do not receive credit for their daily efforts because individually their actions did not ensue large-scale results but as a collective population they served a major role in the civil rights movement. Anne Moodyââ¬â¢s narrative, Coming of Age in Mississippi, details the life of one of these ââ¬Ëordinaryââ¬â¢ people who, as an African American, experienced daily suppression and despite being neglected o f praise, fought to change they way people of color were treated in the south. The hero figure dates all the way back to Greek mythology where gods like Heracles and Achilles defeated forces of evil and saved those in danger. Their actions had consequences that affected many people and were very memorable and that is they remain two of the most commonly known individuals of the time. This trend had remained popular through time with characters both fictional and real, such as Odysseus in 8th century B.C., George

The Hunters Moonsong Chapter Thirty-Three Free Essays
string(97) " secretive curve to his mouth, almost as if Damon was even more pleased with himself than usual\." Ethan was, Matt observed, totaly freaking out. The guyââ¬â¢s usual cheerful composure had worn off, and he was supervising the initiation arrangements with the intensity of a dril sergeant. ââ¬Å"No!â⬠he snarled from across the room. We will write a custom essay sample on The Hunters: Moonsong Chapter Thirty-Three or any similar topic only for you Order Now He darted over and slapped the leg of a girl who was standing on a chair and weaving roses through the welded metal V at the top of the central arch. ââ¬Å"Ouch!â⬠she yel ed, dropping the roses to the floor. ââ¬Å"Ethan, what is your problem?â⬠ââ¬Å"We donââ¬â¢t put anything on the V, Lorelai,â⬠he told her coldly, and bent to pick up the flowers. ââ¬Å"You must respect the symbols of the Vitale Society. Itââ¬â¢s a matter of honor. When our leader final y joins us, we must demonstrate to him that we are disciplined, that we are capable.â⬠He shoved the roses back into her hands. ââ¬Å"We donââ¬â¢t do that by draping garbage al over the symbol of our organization.â⬠Lorelai stared at him. ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢m sorry. But I thought you were the leader of the Vitale Society, Ethan.â⬠Everyone had stopped working to watch Ethanââ¬â¢s melt-down. Noticing that he was the center of attention, Ethan breathed deeply, clearly trying to regain his composure. Final y he addressed them al , biting off his words sharply. ââ¬Å"I am trying to prepare you al , and to prepare this chamber, for the initiation ceremony. For you.â⬠His voice was steadily rising as he glared around at them. ââ¬Å"And this is when I learn that, despite al your promise, youââ¬â¢re a bunch of incompetents. You canââ¬â¢t even place a candle or mix some herbs without my help. Weââ¬â¢re running out of time, and I might as Welljust be doing everything myself.â⬠Matt glanced around at the other pledges. Their faces were shocked and wary. Like him, al along they had been looking up to Ethan and were flattered and encouraged by his praise. Now their role model had turned on them, and no one seemed to know how to react. Chloe, setting out candles by the arch, was anxious, her lips pressed together tightly. She looked quickly at Matt and then away, back toward Ethan. ââ¬Å"Just tel us what you want us to do, Ethan,â⬠Matt said, stepping forward. He tried to keep his voice level and soothing. ââ¬Å"Weââ¬â¢l do our best to make everything perfect.â⬠Ethan glowered at him. ââ¬Å"You couldnââ¬â¢t even get your friend Stefan to join us,â⬠he said bitterly. ââ¬Å"One simple task, and you failed.â⬠ââ¬Å"Hey,â⬠Matt said, offended. ââ¬Å"Thatââ¬â¢s not fair. I got Stefan to come talk to you. If heââ¬â¢s not interested, thatââ¬â¢s his decision. He doesnââ¬â¢t have to join us.â⬠ââ¬Å"I question your commitment to the Vitale Society, Matt,â⬠Ethan said flatly. ââ¬Å"And the conversation with Stefan Salvatore is not over.â⬠He walked straight past Matt, glancing briefly at the rest of the pledges gathered around him. ââ¬Å"Thereââ¬â¢s not much time, everyone. Get back to work.â⬠Matt could feel the beginnings of a headache starting at his temples. For the first time, he wondered if maybe he didnââ¬â¢t want to join the Vitale Society after al . ââ¬Å"I could have this door open in a single second,â⬠Damon said irritably. ââ¬Å"Instead we stand here, waiting.â⬠Meredith sighed and careful y wiggled the bobby pin in the lock. ââ¬Å"If you force the door open, Damon, theyââ¬â¢l know right away that someone broke into the campus security office. By picking the lock instead, we can keep a low profile. Okay?â⬠The bobby pin caught on something, and she careful y slid it upward, trying to turn it to catch the pins of the lock so she could move the tumbler. Then the bobby pin bent, and she lost the angle. She groaned and dug into her bag for another bobby pin. ââ¬Å"Twenty-seven weapons,â⬠she grumbled. ââ¬Å"I brought twenty-seven separate weapons to col ege and not a single lock pick.â⬠ââ¬Å"Well, you couldnââ¬â¢t be prepared for everything,â⬠Elena said. ââ¬Å"What about using a credit card?â⬠ââ¬Å"Being prepared for everything is sort of my job description,â⬠Meredith muttered. She sat back on her heels and stared at the door. The lock was pretty flimsy: not only Damon but either she or Elena could have easily forced it open. And yes, a credit card or something similar probably would work just fine. Dropping the bobby pin into her open bag, she took out her wal et instead and found her student ID. The ID slid right into the crack between the door and the doorjamb, she gave it a careful little wiggle, and, bingo, she was able to easily slide the lock back and pul the door open. Meredith smiled over her shoulder at Elena, arching one eyebrow. ââ¬Å"That was strangely satisfying,â⬠she said. Once they were inside and the door was locked again behind them, Meredith checked to make sure the windows were covered, then flicked on the lights. The security office was simply furnished: white wal s, two desks, each with a computer, one with a forgotten half cup of coffee on top, and a filing cabinet. There was a dying plant on the windowsil , its leaves dry and browning. ââ¬Å"Weââ¬â¢re sure that none of the officers are going to show up and catch us?â⬠Elena asked nervously. ââ¬Å"I told you, I checked their routine,â⬠Meredith answered. ââ¬Å"After eight oââ¬â¢clock, al but one of the security guards on duty is patrol ing the campus. The one who isnââ¬â¢t is sitting in the downstairs lobby of the administration building, keeping in radio contact with the others and helping students who lock themselves out of their dorms and stuff.â⬠ââ¬Å"Well, letââ¬â¢s get it over with,â⬠Damon said. ââ¬Å"I donââ¬â¢t particularly relish the idea of spending the whole evening in this dismal little hole.â⬠His voice sounded both Wellbred and bored, as usual, but there was something different about him. He was standing very close to Elena, so close that his arm was brushing against hers, and, as Meredith watched, his hand came up to touch Elenaââ¬â¢s back very lightly, just with his fingertips. There was a slight secretive curve to his mouth, almost as if Damon was even more pleased with himself than usual. You read "The Hunters: Moonsong Chapter Thirty-Three" in category "Essay examples" ââ¬Å"Well?â⬠he asked, gazing back at Meredith. ââ¬Å"What now, hunter?â⬠Elena stepped away from him and knelt in front of the filing cabinet before Meredith could answer, sliding the top drawer open. ââ¬Å"What was Samanthaââ¬â¢s last name? Her fileââ¬â¢s probably under that.â⬠ââ¬Å"Dixon,â⬠Meredith told her, pushing away the little shock she kept getting whenever anyone referred to Samantha in the past tense. It was just â⬠¦ sheââ¬â¢d been so ful of life. ââ¬Å"And Christopherââ¬â¢s was Nowicki.â⬠Elena rifled through the files in both drawers, pul ing out first one thick folder and then a second. ââ¬Å"Got them.â⬠She opened Samanthaââ¬â¢s folder and made a sick little sound in her throat. ââ¬Å"Theyââ¬â¢re â⬠¦ worse than I thought,â⬠she said, her voice shaking as she looked at pictures from the murder scene. She turned over a few pages. ââ¬Å"And hereââ¬â¢s the coronerââ¬â¢s report. It says she died from blood loss.â⬠ââ¬Å"Let me see,â⬠Meredith said. She took the file and made herself study the crime scene pictures to see if she had missed anything when she was there. Her eyes kept flinching away from Samââ¬â¢s poor defenseless body, so she swal owed hard and focused on the areas away from the body, the floor, the wal s of Samanthaââ¬â¢s room. ââ¬Å"Blood loss because she was kil ed by a vampire? Or because thereââ¬â¢s so much blood everywhere else?â⬠She was proud of how steady her own voice was, steadier than Elenaââ¬â¢s anyway. She held out the folder toward Damon. ââ¬Å"What do you think?â⬠she asked. Damon took the folder and studied the photos dispassionately, flipping a few pages to read the coronerââ¬â¢s report. Then he held out his hand to Elena for Christopherââ¬â¢s file and looked through that one as Well. ââ¬Å"I canââ¬â¢t tel anything for certain,â⬠he said after a few minutes. ââ¬Å"Just like with the bodies I found, they could have been kil ed by werewolves, who are primitive like this. Or it could have been sloppy vampires. Demons, easily. Even humans could do this, if they were sufficiently motivated.â⬠Elena made a soft sound of denial, and Damon flashed his bril iant sudden grin at her. ââ¬Å"Oh, donââ¬â¢t forget that humans can come up with far more creative means of violence than some simple hungry monsters do, sweetheart.â⬠Serious again, he looked down at the photographs once more. ââ¬Å"I can tel you, though, that more than one creature ââ¬â or person ââ¬â was responsible.â⬠His finger traced a line across one of the pictures, and Meredith forced herself to look. Bloodstains were spattered in wide arcs across the room, beyond Samanthaââ¬â¢s outstretched arms. ââ¬Å"See the way the blood sprayed here?â⬠Damon asked. ââ¬Å"Someone held her hands and someone else held her feet, and at least one other, maybe more, kil ed her.â⬠He flipped open Christopherââ¬â¢s folder again. ââ¬Å"Same thing. This might be evidence that werewolves are the culprits, since they like to travel in packs, but it isnââ¬â¢t firm proof. You can get groups of almost anything. Even vampires: theyââ¬â¢re not al as self-sufficient as I am.â⬠ââ¬Å"Matt saw only one person ââ¬â or whatever ââ¬â near Chrisââ¬â¢s body, though,â⬠Elena pointed out. ââ¬Å"And he got there real y soon after Christopher screamed.â⬠Damon waved a disparaging hand. ââ¬Å"So they were fast,â⬠he said. ââ¬Å"A vampire could do it before a human had time to even react to the scream. Almost anything supernatural could. Speed comes with the package.â⬠Meredith shuddered. ââ¬Å"A whole pack of something,â⬠she said numbly. ââ¬Å"One would have been bad enough.â⬠ââ¬Å"A packââ¬â¢s much worse,â⬠Damon agreed. ââ¬Å"Are you ready to go now?â⬠ââ¬Å"Weââ¬â¢d better check and see if thereââ¬â¢s anything else and then clean up,â⬠Elena said. ââ¬Å"Do you want to stand guard outside? I feel like weââ¬â¢re real y tempting fate by staying here so long. You could give some kind of signal if you see someone coming or use your Power to get rid of them. Please?â⬠Damon smiled at her flirtatiously. ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢l be your watchdog, princess, but only because itââ¬â¢s you.â⬠Meredith waited until he left to say dryly, ââ¬Å"Speaking of dogs, remember when Damon kil ed Bonnieââ¬â¢s pet pug?â⬠Elena opened the top file drawer again and started going through it methodical y. ââ¬Å"I donââ¬â¢t want to talk about this, Meredith. It was Katherine who kil ed Yangtze, anyway.â⬠ââ¬Å"I just donââ¬â¢t think you realize what youââ¬â¢re getting into here,â⬠Meredith said. ââ¬Å"Damonââ¬â¢s not terrific relationship material.â⬠Elenaââ¬â¢s hands faltered in their efficient progress. ââ¬Å"I donââ¬â¢t â⬠¦ itââ¬â¢s not like that,â⬠she said. ââ¬Å"Itââ¬â¢s not a relationship, I donââ¬â¢t want a relationship with anyone but Stefan.â⬠Meredith frowned, confused. ââ¬Å"Well, then, what ââ¬â ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"Itââ¬â¢s complicated,â⬠Elena said. ââ¬Å"I care about Damon, you know that. Iââ¬â¢m seeing where things might go with him. Thereââ¬â¢s something between us, there always has been. With Stefan goneâ⬠ââ¬â her voice cracked ââ¬â ââ¬Å"I have to give it a chance. Just â⬠¦ just let it alone for now, okay?â⬠She picked up Samanthaââ¬â¢s folder to put it back in the drawer. Her lips were trembling, and Meredith was about to pursue the subject: she wasnââ¬â¢t going to let it alone. Not when Elena was upset and somehow involved ââ¬â more involved than she had been before ââ¬â with Damon the dangerous vampire. But Elena interrupted her. ââ¬Å"Huh,â⬠she said. ââ¬Å"What do you think this means?â⬠Meredith craned to see what she was talking about, and Elena pointed. On the inside front of Samanthaââ¬â¢s file was written a large black V. Hydrogen peroxide Essay Example
Hydrogen peroxide Paper Catalase is an enzyme found in the cells of many organisms, both plants and animals. It speeds up the breakdown of hydrogen peroxide (a highly toxic chemical produced in small quantities in cells as a by-product of metabolism) to water and oxygen. I was asked to investigate the effect of one factor on the rate at which catalase works. I will be using celery as the source of the catalase. Planning Enzymes are biological catalysts. They are produced in all living organisms and control all the chemical reactions that occur. There are 4 things that can affect the rate of the chemical reaction: temperature, pH, concentration of substrate and concentration of enzyme. When the temperature increases, the rate of reaction will increase because as the temperature is higher, the kinetic energy of the particles increases, then more pairs of particles will have enough energy between them to collide successfully. Also, because heat is given, it provide another source of energy to get the reaction started, so that enough molecules reach the activation energy and collide successfully which cause the reaction rate to increase. But if the temperature is too high (above 50 c), the enzyme will denature and stop working because the shapes of the enzymes can no longer combine with the substances. Any change in pH affects the ionic and hydrogen bonding in an enzyme and alters its shape. Extremes of pH will denature some enzymes. Each enzyme has an optimum pH at which its active site best fits the substrate. But most enzymes will work best in neutral condition (pH 7). When there is an excess of enzyme molecules, an increase in the substrate concentration, produces a corresponding increase in the rate of reaction. Concentration of substrate or enzyme increases, the greater the rate of reaction will be because higher concentration means a higher number of particles in a given volume. If there are more particles, there will be more reaction. More reaction means a larger number of successful collisions. Therefore the reaction rate will increase. But if the substrate is in short supply, an increase in enzyme concentration has no effect. Or if there are sufficient substrate molecules, the rate of reaction is unaffected by further increases in substrate concentration as the enzymes are unable to break down the greater quantity of substrate. I think I am going to design an experiment to investigate the effect of concentration of substrate on the rate of the reaction. The experiment is going to be how can the concentration of the hydrogen peroxide affects the rate of catalase reaction. I predict as the concentration of the hydrogen peroxide increases, the rate of catalase reaction will increase. This is because higher concentration means there is a higher number of particles in a given volume. If there are more particles, there will be a bigger chance of reaction occurring. Bigger chance of reaction occurring means a bigger chance of successful collisions. Therefore the reaction rate will increase. To find out whether when prediction is right, I am going to do an experiment. Preliminary experiment For my experiment, I will need: A 50cm conical flask with a bung A burette Container Delivery tube Clamps and stand 10cm measuring cylinder A stopwatch 20 vol of hydrogen peroxide celery juice (catalase) Safety control I have to make sure all the school bags and chairs are under the table, in case I trip over I have to wear goggles, prevent any accidents that can damage my eyes I have to make sure I handle all the glassware carefully I have to handle the hydrogen peroxide very carefully because it is very toxic Method 1. Set up the experiment according to the diagram 2. Measure 10 cm of catalase (celery juice) 3. Measure 10 cm of Hydrogen Peroxide 4. Pour the catalase into the conical flask 5. Fill the burette with water 6. Pour the hydrogen peroxide into the conical flask and close the bung and start the timer 7. Record the volume of gas given off every 10 seconds (10s, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s) 8. Mix hydrogen peroxide with pure water to give the following percentage of concentration of acid: 100%, 80%, 60%, 40% and 20% 9. Repeat 1 8 using the 100%, 80%, 60%, 40% and 20% hydrogen peroxide 10. Repeat the whole experiment twice to get a more accurate result Diagram Results Time (seconds) Volume of gas collected when there is 100% of H O (cm ). Volume of gas collected when there is 60% of H O (cm ) Volume of gas collected when there is 40% of H O (cm ) Volume of gas collected when there is 20% of H O (cm )Ã The results show that I have used the right amount of catalase and hydrogen peroxide as the volume of gas given off at a rate that is not too quick. Also, the apparatus I chose are appropriate which can give me a precise result. I will repeat the experiment three times to give a more reliable result. I will make sure the test is fair by: 1) Checking whether I have too many catalase or hydrogen peroxide because this will affect the concentration of the substrate 2) Using the same celery each time to get the catalase because different celery may contain different amount of catalase which will then affect the concentration of enzyme 3) Putting the bung on as quickly as possible in case any gas leak out which will affect the accuracy of the experiment 4) Varying the concentration of substrate only each time, or else the results will not be reliable. 5) Making sure the temperature remains constant as it will affect the rate of reaction. When temperature increases, the rate of reaction will increase 6) Making sure the pH remains constant as it will affect the enzyme. The enzyme works best at pH 7 Now I am going to plan my experiment again to get a more reliable and accurate result. Apparatus A 50cm conical flask with a bung A burette Clamps and stand Delivery tube Container 10cm measuring cylinder A stopwatch 20 vol of hydrogen peroxide Celery juice (catalase) Safety control I have to make sure all the school bags and chairs are under the table, in case I trip over.

Free Essays on Music Censorship Needs To Be Stopped
Music Censorship Needs to be Stopped ââ¬Å"Censorship is based on fear.â⬠Johnny Clegg, a South African musician and songwriter said this in an interview about his music (What). Music censorship has been around since music has been mass produced (Volz 16). Censorship is wrong for a number of reasons. People who are for censorship typically donââ¬â¢t know what censoring is, or why they ban some forms of music. There have also been many songs banned in the history of music that are now seen as no longer offensive. Censorship has also been a big topic in times of national disaster, the most recent example was September 11, 2001. Music is a free expression of the ideas, emotions, and views of individuals and of people, because of this, music censorship is a violation of human rights. Despite government attempts to ban certain types of music, under no circumstances should lawmakers dictate what we can and cannot listen to. You may be wondering to yourself, why is music censored? Throughout history, reasons for censorship has come, and gone. The issues that are most typically faced in todayââ¬â¢s world are sex, violence, drugs, and political reasons. Many songs have been banned for sexual content. Songs like Princeââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Purple Rainâ⬠for having reference to masturbation (Nuzum NPR). This issue arose in 1985 when Tipper Gore and others formed the Parents Music Research Center (PMRC) where she accused all rock musicians of being devil worshippers, mass fornicators and advocates of suicide, and public and promiscuous sex, although research shows that there is more sexual, and drug references in R&B and rap (Nuzum NPR). The sixties and seventies influential band, Velvet Undergroundââ¬â¢s debut album (mid 1966) was delayed for nine months due to drug and sexual content. Up to this point, other artists were forced to alter their music to get the album to be mass produced by a rec ord label, but in 1967, Velvet Underground released their...
